Anderson dandy as Vandy coasts past Kentucky

LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) -- Chantelle Anderson scored 32 points and Zuzana Klimesova added 28 to lead Vanderbilt (No. 17 ESPN/USA Today, No. 18 AP) over Kentucky 91-61 Thursday night.

The duo combined to hit 27 of 34 shots for Vanderbilt (13-2, 2-0 Southeastern Conference), which shot 70 percent (40-of-57) from the floor.

The Commodores outrebounded Kentucky 41-19.

LaTonya McDole scored 18 and SeSe Helm added 15 to pace Kentucky (4-10, 0-3).

Anderson scored 10 points and Klimesova 8 during the Commodores' game-opening 27-4 run. McDole's basket with 9:18 left in the first half ended an eight-minute Kentucky scoring drought and cut Vanderbilt's lead to 27-6.

Vanderbilt's first-half lead reached 33 before the Commodores settled for a 44-21 halftime edge. The Commodores shot 76 percent (19-of-25) and outrebounded Kentucky 20-7 in the first half.

Kentucky got no closer than the halftime margin in the second half.
