WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- Purdue's Cherrise Graham, averaging 6.6 points and 2.8 rebounds per game this season, is leaving the Boilermaker program, the school announced Wednesday.
"It is my choice to leave Purdue University because I feel that I am not in
the right place, basketball-wise," said Graham, a 5-foot-7 freshman guard.. "I am sure about making this decision. I am not sure where I am going to continue going to school next semester, but I am going to begin the process of looking into other
schools."
Graham, a native of Conshohocken, Pa. (Archbishop Carroll H.S.), will not be
eligible to compete at a Division I institution until the spring semester of
the 2001-02 academic year at the earliest.
Purdue head coach Kristy Curry says she wishes Graham the best.
"I hope Cherrise finds much success academically and athletically and can
find happiness," Curry said.
