Tom Donahoe's analysis |
Rams LB Ryan Phillips intercepted a pass at the St. Louis 11 with the Rams up 28-14, and Rams scored 10 more afterward. |
Rams QB Trent Green. Passed for four TDs and scrambled for another. |
If the Rams can get Marshall Faulk back and continue to make strides defensively, they will go deep into the postseason again. By then Kurt Warner is expected back, but it looks like Trent Green could take them there as well.

Tom Donahoe's analysis |
Saints LB Keith Mitchell returned a fumble 90 yards for a TD for a 14-3 lead in the third. |
Saints DE Joe Johnson. He had three sacks, and recovered a fumble by Steve Beuerlein after his first sack that ended a long Panthers' drive. |
Once again today, Steve
Beuerlein struggled just to find time to throw the football. He was
sacked eight times and was under constant pressure throughout the game. As a
result, the Panthers' offense struggled again. |

Tom Donahoe's analysis |
Brian Walker intercepted Ryan Leaf, setting up Olindo Mare's 35-yard FG for a 17-0 Miami lead. |
Dolphins' Lamar Smith. He ran for two more TDs this week, giving him seven in last four games. |
Lamar Smith has given the
Dolphins something they haven't had in years -- that is, a big running back
they can depend on for tough yards, especially when they get in the red
zone. |
UP NEXT: Dolphins (8-2) vs. Jets (6-3) | Chargers (0-10) at Broncos (6-4) |

Tom Donahoe's analysis |
David Akers kicked a winning 42-yard FG 4:16 into overtime. |
Akers. Not only did he hit game-winner, he hit hurried 42-yarder to tie it and send to OT. |
For the second week in a row, McNabb rallied the Eagles for the tying
touchdown in regulation and then moved them for the game-winning field goal
in overtime. You have to be impressed with McNabb's development as a young
quarterback. |

It was over when ... |

Tom Donahoe's analysis |
Corwin Brown intercepted Danny Kanell, and four plays later Jason Hanson kicked the winning 44-yard FG. |
Lions coach Gary Moeller. In wake of Bobby Ross quitting, Moeller made an unpopular call on fourth-down and wound up winning. |
The biggest problem the
Falcons had today was throwing the football. They had to play Danny Kanell because of the
injury to Chris Chandler, and
the passing game was inconsistent. |
UP NEXT: Lions (6-4) at Giants (7-3) | Falcons (3-8) at 49ers (3-8) |
Seahawks 28, Jaguars 21
RECAP | BOX SCORE |
It was over when ... |

Tom Donahoe's analysis |
Mark Brunell's pass from the Seattle 1-yard line with no time remaining fell incomplete. |
Seahawks QB Jon Kitna. Surprise! Kitna was effective, going 22-of-33 for 231 yards and three TDs. |
Now it is almost impossible for the Jags to get
straightened out this year and make a playoff run. The main thing that has
hurt the Jags this year has been injuries. |
UP NEXT: Seahawks (4-7) BYE | Jaguars (3-7) at Steelers (5-5) |
Vikings 31, Cardinals 14
RECAP | BOX SCORE |
It was over when ... |
Game ball goes to ... |
Tom Donahoe's analysis |
The Vikings took a 10-7 halftime lead and built it to 31-7 before the Cards knew what hit them. |
Vikings' QB Daunte Culpepper. Passed for 302 yards and three TDs, and ran for another score. |
The key for the Cardinals
is that they may have too many injuries to stay in football games. They're
banged up at linebacker and on the defensive line. It appears that they wear
down in games. |
UP NEXT:Vikings (8-2) vs. Panthers (4-6) | Cardinals (3-7) at Eagles (7-4) |

Tom Donahoe's analysis |
Al Del Greco missed a 43-yard FG in the final seconds that would have been the game-winner. |
Ravens QB Trent Dilfer. He was solid against one of the NFL's best defenses, with 281 yards passing and two TDs. |
Dilfer has energized the Ravens' offense. He's a
competitor and plays with some fire, and statistically he's put up some good
numbers the last two games. If Dilfer can keep playing that way, he looks
like a quarterback who can get Billick and the Ravens to the playoffs. |
UP NEXT: Ravens (7-4) vs. Cowboys (4-6) | Titans (8-2) vs. Browns (3-8) |
Browns 19, Patriots 11
RECAP | BOX SCORE |
It was over when ... |
Game ball goes to ... |
Tom Donahoe's analysis |
The Patriots pulled within 19-11 with 5:48 remaining, but the teams traded punts and Cleveland ran out the clock. |
Browns kicker Phil Dawson. He kicked a career-high four FGs, his longest from 43 yards. |
The Patriots' problem today wasn't so much Bledsoe -- they just can't
seem to find a way to win a football game. The Patriots played pretty good
defense again today, but they have shown all season a lack of playmakers on
both sides of the ball. |
UP NEXT: Browns (3-8) at Titans (8-2) | Patriots (2-8) vs. Bengals (2-8) |

Tom Donahoe's analysis |
After leading only 6-3 at the half, the Bills scored on a 70-yard drive to open the third quarter. |
Buffalo's Keion Carpenter intercepted two of Shane Matthews' passes. |
Flutie has done a good job as a starter -- he's 3-1. But the Bills are
committed to Johnson as their starter. |

Tom Donahoe's analysis |
Rookie kicker Tim Seder faked a field goal in the third quarter and ran for a TD for a 17-6 Cowboys' lead. |
Cowboys offensive line. They kept Troy Aikman from being hit and opened the hole for a kicker to score a TD. |
Dallas is not a playoff football team at this time. They may
still have some hope of becoming that team, but they have been decimated by
injuries at wide receiver and on the defensive line. |
UP NEXT: Cowboys (4-6) at Ravens (7-4) | Bengals (2-8) at Patriots (2-8) |

Tom Donahoe's analysis |
The 49ers raced to a 21-0 lead and never allowed Elvis Grbac to get going. |
49ers' safety Lance Schulters. Playing with nerve problems in neck and leg, Schulters recorded seven tackles and two monster hits. |
Elvis Grbac had been on a record-shattering pace in recent weeks but was not sharp
today. But give the credit to some inspired play by the 49ers defense. |
UP NEXT: 49ers (3-8) vs. Falcons (3-8) | Chiefs (5-5) vs. Bills (6-4) |

Tom Donahoe's analysis |
Martin Gramatica hit field goals from 54 and 51 yards in the fourth quarter for the winning points. |
Gramatica. His stunning kicks brought his streak of made FGs to 12. |
The Bucs have started to become the team many expected them to be. Shaun King is getting it done, Warrick Dunn is becoming a go-to runner and Keyshawn Johnson is making plays. The defense has also stepped up; the Bucs have one of the best past rushes in the NFL.

Mike Vanderjagt converted a 26-yard field goal in the second quarter to give the Colts a 17-0 lead. The Jets could not come back in this one. |
Colts running back Edgerrin James, who finished with 131 yards on 31 carries. He became the fastest Colts player to reach 1,000 yards in a season. |
