Tony Banks threw a 29-yard touchdown pass to Shannon Sharpe with 41 seconds left to seal Baltimore's come-from-behind win. Jaguars wideout Jimmy Smith, who despite the loss, caught 15 passes for a career-high 291 yards and three touchdowns. In the end, it came down to Baltimore's ability to not give up and to make the plays they had to make. Impressive in this game for Baltimore were the performances of rookie receiver Travis Taylor and quarterback Tony Banks.
UP NEXT: Ravens (2-0) at Dolphins (1-1)   |    Jaguars (1-1) vs. Bengals (0-1)

Bills 27, Packers 18
RECAP | BOX SCORE
It was over when ... Game ball goes to ... Tom Donahoe's analysis
Bills tight end Jay Riemersma scored his second touchdown of the day -- a 14-yard catch three minutes into the fourth quarter. Bills QB Rob Johnson, who led his offense through four scoring drives over the second and third quarters. They resulted in two TDs (Riemersma and Jeremy McDaniel) and two field goals from Steve Christie for 45 and 20 yards. Rob Johnson, who was almost knocked silly in the first half, managed to hang in there and produce some plays in the second half. Johnson seems to be developing a good rapport with his tight end Jay Riemersma.
UP NEXT: Bills (2-0) at Jets (1-0)   |   Packers (0-2) vs. Eagles (1-1)

Browns 24, Bengals 7
RECAP | BOX SCORE
It was over when ... Game ball goes to ... Tom Donahoe's analysis
The Bengals offense had no chance from the start. QB Akili Smith was sacked seven times, threw two interceptions and the Bengals fumbled the ball three times. Not the home-opener Cincinnati fans had in mind. Browns QB Tim Couch, who avenged last season's heart-breaking 18-17 loss to the Bengals last season in Cleveland. Couch threw for 259 yards and two touchdowns in the convincing victory. This is a disappointing start for Cincinnati, but the Bengals have some good players on offense and should be able to improve as the season goes along.
UP NEXT: Browns (1-1) vs. Steelers (0-1)    |   Bengals (0-1) at Jaguars (1-1)

Raiders 38, Colts 31
RECAP | BOX SCORE
It was over when ... Game ball goes to ... Tom Donahoe's analysis
Oakland's Tory James intercepted a Peyton Manning pass in the end zone with a minute left in the fourth quarter, killing a possible go-ahead drive for the Colts. Super hero Rich Gannon. The 34-year-old quarterback rushed for three touchdowns to spark a comeback where Oakland erased a 21-point deficit. Before Sunday, Gannon never rushed for more than one TD. This is a significant win for Oakland because it was a road game against one of the teams that people feel is a team to beat in the AFC.
UP NEXT: Raiders (2-0) vs. Broncos (0-1)    |   Colts (1-1) vs. Jaguars (1-1)

Vikings 13, Dolphins 7
RECAP | BOX SCORE
It was over when ... Game ball goes to ... Tom Donahoe's analysis
Minnesota's Orlando Thomas recovered Miami's onside kick with less than a minute left, squandering any hopes of another Dolphin drive. Vikings quarterback Daunte Culpepper. In his second straight start, Culpepper overcame his mistakes (three INTs) to throw a 15-yard TD pass to Randy Moss to give the Vikings a 13-0 lead -- the first of his career. Culpepper went 23-for-37 for 355 yards. Daunte Culpepper has certainly established himself as a quarterback to be reckoned with. And with the weapons he has in his offense, this could be an exciting year for Minnesota.
UP NEXT: Vikings (2-0) at Patriots (0-1)    |   Dolphins (1-1) vs. Ravens (2-0)

Giants 33, Eagles 18
RECAP | BOX SCORE
It was over when ... Game ball goes to ... Tom Donahoe's analysis
The Eagles went went three-and-out in four of their five possessions in the first half. And the Giants capitalized, scoring twice in the final minute of the second quarter to take a 20-3 lead. The Giants offense, which controlled the clock most of the game. Kerry Collins showed the Giants have a passing game, going 21-for-29 for 220 yards and two touchdowns. A nod to the Giants' defense, which held Duce Staley to just 11 yards. The Eagles had a difficult time getting their offense on track early because they did not have the football. ... It was a disappointing home opener for Philadelphia.
UP NEXT: Giants (2-0) vs. Bears (0-2)    |   Eagles (1-1) at Packers (0-2)

Buccaneers 41, Bears 0
RECAP | BOX SCORE
It was over when ... Game ball goes to ... Tom Donahoe's analysis
This one was over from the beginning, but the first half set the tone. The Bucs' defense forced four turnovers to help build a 20-point halftime lead. A telling stat -- Bears QB Cade McNown led the team in rushing for the second straight week with 49 yards. The Tampa Bay staple defense, which was the big reason the Bucs had a big lead at the half before the offense took over in the second. Including the four turnovers, Cade McNown was sacked five times and threw two interceptions. Chicago has to be disappointed. The Bears pride themselves on the explosiveness of their offense but could not get on track this day.
UP NEXT: Buccaneers (2-0) at Lions (2-0 )   |   Bears (0-2) vs. Giants (2-0)

Titans 17, Chiefs 14 OT
RECAP | BOX SCORE
It was over when ... Game ball goes to ... Tom Donahoe's analysis
Al Del Greco kicked a 36-yard field goal in overtime to seal the comeback victory. Titans backup quarterback Neil O'Donnell, who replaced Steve McNair (bruised chest) late in the fourth quarter. O'Donnell got the Titans into overtime by completing an 8-yard pass to Yancey Thigpen with 50 seconds left to tie it -- an eight-play, 56-yard drive. This was a tough loss for the Chiefs, as they start the season at 0-2. However, they certainly appear to be a better football team than that record indicates.
UP NEXT: Titans (1-1) open.    |   Chiefs (0-2) vs. Chargers (0-2)

Broncos 42, Falcons 14
RECAP | BOX SCORE
It was over when ... Game ball goes to ... Tom Donahoe's nalysis
The Broncos scored on their first five possessions and gave the Falcons no first downs in the first half. Broncos' third-string running back Mike Anderson. Who would have thought this Anderson would steal the show? Filling in for Terrell Davis and Olandis Gary, he rushed for 131 yards and two touchdowns on 31 carries. For Atlanta, it shows the Falcons have some work to do before they get back to their Super Bowl-caliber performance of 1998.
UP NEXT: Broncos (1-1) at Oakland (2-0)   |    Falcons (1-1) at Panthers (1-1)

Lions 15, Redskins 10
RECAP | BOX SCORE
It was over when ... Game ball goes to ... Tom Donahoe's analysis
Deion Sanders failed to catch a punt return that rolled 10 yards, forcing the Redskins to start their final drive from their own 11. Three interceptions of 'Skins QB Brad Johnson in the final quarter doesn't help either. Lions kicker Jason Hanson, whose five field goals give Detroit its scoreline. He reached the uprights from 49, 20, 54, 37 and 35 yards. Having Charlie Batch was a big factor for the Lions. Batch wasn't sharp, but will be once he gets more game experience and gets comfortable moving around. He didn't have the mobility you normally expect from him, and some of that is related to his knee injury.
UP NEXT: Lions (2-0) vs. Buccaneers (2-0)    |    Redskins (1-1) vs. Cowboys (0-1)

Saints 28, Chargers 27
RECAP | BOX SCORE
It was over when ... Game ball goes to ... Tom Donahoe's analysis
In the second half, Chargers QB Ryan Leaf threw two interceptions in the second half and San Diego botched a fourth-down play deep in New Orleans territory to squander an 11-point halftime lead. New Orleans' Jeff Blake, who completed an 8-yard TD pass to Joe Horn with 47 seconds left in the game, capping a 10-play, 90-yard drive that gave the Saints the win. Ryan Leaf has said and done all the right things in the locker room, but he still has to perform better on the field. Leaf's play is rusty. He has the ability, but it may take him a while to feel comfortable in San Diego's offense.
UP NEXT: Saints (1-1) at Seahawks (0-2)    |    Chargers (0-2) at Chiefs (0-2)

Rams 37, Seahawks 34
RECAP | BOX SCORE
It was over when ... Game ball goes to ... Tom Donahoe's analysis
Jeff Wilkins hit a 27-yard field goal with 23 seconds left in the game to seal the comeback victory for the defending Super Bowl champion Rams. Kurt Warner. The Rams QB threw a 41-yard pass to Terry Holt to set up the winning kick. The completion came on third-and-17 from the 50 after Warner was sacked for a 7-yard loss. For the Rams to return to the Super Bowl, they need to shore up some problems on defense. ... St. Louis needs to start to making some plays. It's difficult in this league to outscore people from week to week.
UP NEXT: Rams (2-0) vs. 49ers (0-2)    |    Seahawks (0-2) vs. Saints (1-1)

Panthers 38, 49ers 22
RECAP | BOX SCORE
It was over when ... Game ball goes to ... Tom Donahoe's analysis
Carolina built a 28-0 halftime lead against the Niners on the road. And when San Francisco fans started cheering "We want Mirer." Panthers QB Steve Beuerlein. He threw for 364 yards and three touchdowns, the first two coming on Carolina's first two possessions of the game. This is an impressive road win for Carolina. George Seifert continues to show he's one of the top coaches in the NFL. For the 49ers, the key is probably patience.
UP NEXT: Panthers (1-1) vs. Falcons    |    49ers (0-2) vs. Rams (2-0)

Cardinals 32, Cowboys 31
RECAP | BOX SCORE
It was over when ... Game ball goes to ... Joe Theismann's analysis
Jake Plummer completed a 17-yard pass to Frank Sanders for the winning touchdown with 1:54 left in the game. Jake "the Snake." Plummer powered the winning drive, throwing a 63-yard pass to David Boston to put the Cards in scoring position. It was the 12th fourth-quarter comeback victory for Plummer. Dave Campo has his hands full from a physical standpoint, getting his team ready, and from a psychological standpoint. These are not the Cowboys we are accustomed to. They are a team in transition.
UP NEXT: Cardinals (1-1) open    |    Cowboys (0-2) at Redskins (1-1)
