Owens. The brash 49ers receiver had two touchdown catches and pulled a pen from his sock to sign the football after the winning TD. |

Eric Allen's analysis |
The Packers scored 28 unanswered points after the Patriots kicked a field goal to open the scoring. That was plenty for the Packers defense which forced four Patriots turnovers. |
Brett Favre. In the process of completing 17 of 27 passes for a modest 147 yards, the Packers QB tossed three touchdowns giving him 301 and placing him third on the career list. |
The Patriots have had trouble stopping the run this season. They're not playing tough mentally on defense, and the defensive schemes that worked last year aren't flying this year. |

The Bucs' red-hot defense came in fired up. Warren Sapp, Derrick Brooks and company haven't allowed a touchdown in three consecutive games. |
Mike Alstott. The Bucs fullback bulled over the Browns' defense for 126 yards and two touchdowns on only 17 carries. |
The Bucs have a Super Bowl-caliber defense right now, and Sapp is one of the anchors. |

David Carr's fourth-down pass to Jermaine Lewis was batted down in the end zone by Antoine Winfield with 35 seconds remaining. |
Drew Bledsoe and Travis Henry. Bledsoe's two touchdown passes in the final quarter gave the Bills another come-from-behind victory, while Henry carried the load most of the day amassing 159 yards on the ground and two touchdowns. |
I like the way running back Jonathan Wells is running. The Texans' running game is beginning to develop a personality to complement quarterback David Carr.

Eric Allen's analysis |
Falcons safety Henry Jones forced a fumble by Ron Dixon with 3:22 to play and the Giants threatening to tie the game. Kevin Mathis recovered the fumble to secure the victory. |
The man of the hour, Doug Johnson. Atlanta's backup QB stepped up in a huge way, throwing for 257 yards and two touchdowns. His 14-yard touchdown pass to Brian Finneran with 8:06 to play turned out to be the game winner. |
The Giants seem to be lost. The defense is strong, but they're aimless on offense.

Vikings corner Corey Chavous picked off Joey Harrington's pass in the end zone on second-and-goal with 17 seconds remaining. |
Daunte Culpepper. The Vikings signal-caller led his team on two fourth-quarter touchdown drives for their first victory of the season. He finished the game with 295 yards passing and two touchdowns. He also rushed for 39 yards and a score. |
It was important, from a defensive standpoint, for CB Corey Chavous to seal the victory. The members of Minnesota's secondary have been maligned, and it was a good confidence-booster for them to come through.

Eric Allen's analysis |
Colts kicker Mike Vanderjagt kicked a 38-yarder with four seconds on the clock giving the Colts a 22-20 victory. |
Ravens cornerback Gary Baxter. His pass interference penalty on an errant Peyton Manning fourth-down pass kept the Colts' game-winning drive alive. Oh yeah, Marvin Harrison had 12 catches for 150 yards, not too shabby. |
The Colts have had several different No. 2 wide receivers this season. They need more consistency at the No. 2 receiver to take some heat off Marvin Harrison. |

The Steelers got off the bus. It was that ugly. |
The "Steal Curtain." The Steelers' defense forced three Jon Kitna interceptions, one fumble, and held Pro Bowl running back Corey Dillon to 57 yards rushing. |
For the Steelers right now, any win is a good win. You have to start building somewhere, but I wouldn't look to this as a game that turns the Steelers' season around.

Saints wideout Michael Lewis returned his second kick for a touchdown in the game. This time it was a punt he returned 83 yards, giving the Saints a 36-21 lead early in the third quarter. |
Lewis absolutely torched the Redskins' special teams to the tune of 203 return yards. Besides his punt return for a touchdown, he returned a kickoff 90 yards for a touchdown and had two catches for 70 yards. |
Jim Haslett is a defense-oriented coach, so to be able to change the offense's personality and the offensive scheme in one year and have so much success is amazing. |

The Cowboys have been getting inconsistent play and unsound decisions from QB Quincy Carter. WR Joey Galloway, though, is having a fantastic year so far. |

Eddie George notched his first 100-yard rushing game of the season, getting 113 big yards on the ground. |
The history of this rivalry tells you that these teams play each other tough. Even when the Jaguars were a playoff team, the Titans always seemed to beat them. |

Marc Bulger gave the Rams a 28-6 lead early in the fourth quarter on a quarterback dive. |
Bulger, the Rams' third-string quarterback, threw a pair of touchdown passes and had a 1-yard scoring plunge. |
What happened is that Marshall Faulk played the kind of game we expected of him all season, and the Rams made getting him the ball their top priority. The Raiders were beat by the Rams' No. 1 weapon today. |

Brees, who had a big fourth quarter to spark the Chargers. |
This is a good game to build on for QB Drew Brees. Coming through with that winning TD drive will give him confidence, and he'll need it as the Chargers travel to Oakland next week.
