Rams remain on top

By Tom Jackson
Special to ESPN.com

Here's my quick review of everything we saw in Week 4 of the 2001 NFL season:

TJ'S TOP 10 W-L TJ SAYS
1. Rams 3-0 Rolled right past Lions on Monday night.
2. Ravens 3-1 Made latest statement by manhandling Titans.
3. Packers 3-1 Narrow setback in Tampa nothing to be ashamed of.
4. Dolphins 3-1 Back on track after debacle vs. Rams.
5. Raiders 3-1 Did just enough to get by Cowboys.
6. Broncos 3-1 Broncos' defense comes up big when needed.
7. Chargers 3-1 RB LaDainian Tomlinson can't do it all.
8. Colts 2-1 Defense has two weeks to straighten out problems.
9. Giants 3-1 Workmanlike performance vs. hapless Redskins.
10. Browns 3-1 Browns' defensive unit has allowed three TDs in four games.

Offensive player of the week:
Steelers running back Jerome Bettis. Rushes for 153 yards in 16-7 win over the Bengals and becomes 14th player to reach 10,000 career rushing yards.

Defensive player of the week:
Broncos cornerback Deltha O'Neal. Ties an NFL record with 4 interceptions (18th player to accomplish that feat) in win over Chiefs.

Special team players of the week:
Saints kicker John Carney. Boots five field goals as New Orleans toyed with the Vikings.

Number of the week:
41. Including playoffs, the number of games that the Ravens have gone without allowing a 100-yard rushing performance (dating back to '98).

Surprise of the week:
Cardinals over Eagles. Philadelphia let Arizona hang around, and Cardinals quarterback Jake Plummer did in the Eagles again.

Coaching move of the week:
Arizona's Dave McGinnis had his Cardinals ready to play as they pulled off the upset of the day at Veterans Stadium.

Rising this week:
Browns. Butch Davis and company knock San Diego from the undefeated ranks as Browns equal victory total of a year ago.

Falling this week:
Titans. Jeff Fisher knows that only five 0-3 teams have ever made the playoffs

Store it away:
Next week's rare Monday night battle of the winless will go to the Cowboys.
