NEW YORK -- Bill Parcells, who won two Super Bowls as coach of the New York Giants, and his wife, Judith, were granted a divorce on Jan. 16 by a judge in Monmouth County, N.J. According to court documents, Judith Parcells complained her husband of nearly 40 years had grown "cold and distant," the New York Post reported in Wednesday's editions. The couple, who shared a mansion in the Jersey shore town of Sea Girt, agreed to an undisclosed property settlement in December. They have three grown daughters. "My wife and I have an amiable relationship. There's nothing here. It's over and it's done with, and we have a good relationship," Parcells told the Post. Parcells, who also coached the New England Patriots and New York Jets, led the Giants to NFL championships in 1987 and '91. He retired from the Jets' front office last year after coaching the team from 1997-99 and has since done television work for ESPN and radio commentary. |
