On Ravens tight end Shannon Sharpe: "Shannon, when he first came on the team sort of reminded me of Mr. Ed the way his mouth moves and stuff, sort of like a horse. Then I saw his teeth and I knew it was definitely him."

Odd question of the day: Both came from actor/comedian Jay Mohr. The first was, "What did you have for breakfast?" Siragusa's answer, "Couple of omelettes -- cheese and ham."
The second question was, "Do you need a shoe horn to put on your helmet?" To which Siragusa replied, "No, not a shoe horn. I have to put a little grease on my ear pads sometimes."

On Ravens coach Brian Billick's outburst Monday night: "Anybody that talks more than I do -- I'm all for."

On talking smack: "You know how many people have tried to shut me up in the last 11 years? A lot of them. You know who's actually been able to do it? My mom and my grandma. My brother can't do it; I'm better looking, I've got more rings and I got more money."

On Giants defensive back Jason Sehorn's money (portfolio) vs. his own: "He's probably got more money; he's got a wife that's an actress. My girlfriend doesn't work."

Advice to Siragusa: "I'd tell him to stay away from the crab shacks and the pizza parlors. Goose weighed 342 pounds at the beginning of the season; I assure you he doesn't weigh 342 at the end of the season."

On Siragusa's weight now: "Hmmm, ... below 400, above 355."

On the game: "This is a high-stakes poker game. ... This is a $500,000 poker game and the odds are big. Some people can't hold a poker face with those kind of odds. The first one to blink normally loses the game."

Look out below: "I can give some advice to our (offensive) linemen on blocking fat guys: Don't cut them and let them fall on you. I was with Tony (Siragusa) the other day, and I don't know about him being listed at 340. He's definitely pushing that."

So how much does Siragusa weigh? "My mental scale doesn't go up that high. Actually, Tony went over and wolfed down a cheeseburger in about two minutes. I asked him if he was full, and he said that was just an appetizer."

One fat cat: "I've heard people have found chicken bones on the field after playing Baltimore. That's because of Tony (Siragusa). ... He's a big cat."

On what he will eat on game day: "Oatmeal, fruit, nothing heavy. Maybe, I'll have part of an omelette -- not the whole thing just part. Omelettes are heavy, with all that cheese and stuff. I'm a healthy eater, and my wife has put me on some sort of super, duper diet."

Super bore: When asked why people should watch a Super Bowl between two defensive teams, Strahan said, "Well, they watched the first 34. So they'd better care about No. 35."

Odd question of the day: Strahan was asked which player is most likely to wear a cup. His answer: "Christian Peter. He punches people in those things, so he expects to get punched back."

Fall into the gap: "I've got a gap tooth, and I'm proud of it. If I fixed it, I'd be perfect, and my teammates would have nothing to talk about. So I'm going to keep it. Sometimes people see (it) from a distance, and they'll say, 'I thought that was you, but until you smiled and opened your mouth, I didn't know for sure."

On respect for the defense: "Nobody counted on us being here. The no-respect factor has helped us a lot this year. But when you get this far, it's not about respect, it's about winning this football game. We deserve to be here and we earned the right to be here."

On dealing with stress: "The pressure's on them. They got the greatest defense in the world, right? They supposed to kick our ass. All we got to do is go out and play football."

On Siragusa, his college teammate: "He's more of a media darling now than he was back then. And he's heavier now. But he was still a fun-loving guy that you want to have in the locker room. He always kept everything light, but when it came down to football he was always ready to go."

On having a curfew: "We're down here to win a football game, not party. I've been to other Super Bowls to party. I can give up six days of partying to win a championship."
