Game plans: Bucs-Raiders

Five keys for the Bucs
1. Make Gannon skittish in the pocket: Rich Gannon's worst game this season was against the Miami Dolphins because Jason Taylor was able to get early pressure on him. Gannon played the game just a little bit worried about his backside. On Sunday, Simeon Rice needs to give Gannon some hits on the backside of the head as early as possible.

2. Sustain offense: A lot of teams control the ball and the clock and win time of possession, but they don't score points. The Bucs must score points. In the red zone, they'll need touchdowns. They can't settle for field goals.

3. Continue aggressive defense: The NFL's No. 1 defense must stay aggressive and mix things up. Ronde Barber is an outstanding blitzer for a cornerback. Keep putting pressure on Gannon with Barber's quickness.

4. Manufacture points: The Bucs aren't going to line up, run routes and get guys open. Jon Gruden must design some plays that manufacture points.

5. Continue solid offensive line play: Late in the season and in the playoffs, the Bucs' offensive line has been solid. That group, including tight ends Ken Dilger and Rickey Dudley must play well. The offensive line must work in harmony, with Brad Johnson upright and a crack for the running backs to run through.

Five keys for the Raiders
1. Stay aggressive with the pass: Since the second half of the divisional playoff game against the Jets, the Raiders have called pass plays 81 percent of the time and they've been successful. They need to stick to what they do best.

2. Use quick passing game: Work the short area of the Bucs' defense. If they take deep drops, the Bucs' pass pressure will get them. Stay in the three- to five-step drop area and get the ball out.

3. Get Garner involved early: During the regular season, Charlie Garner caught 91 balls coming out of the backfield as a receiver. Get Garner the ball in space and make the Bucs account for him.

4. Be aggressive with Bucs' wideouts: Don't give the Bucs receivers room to operate. Charles Woodson and Tory James can play a physical game, so the Raiders can't play a soft-zone coverage. Their secondary needs to play aggressive man-to-man coverage.

5. Pressure Johnson up the middle: Brad Johnson is a plant, step and throw passer. Typically, that style of quarterback has difficulty with pressure up the middle. Turn middle linebacker Napoleon Harris loose on Johnson with inside pressure.
