Free safety Marcus Robertson will miss Sunday's game with the St. Louis Rams with a broken bone above his left ankle, and he will be replaced by Anthony Dorsett.

Receiver Yancey Thigpen, a two-time Pro Bowl player, has a hairline fracture in his right foot, but hopes to play.

"We haven't ruled him out as yet," coach Jeff Fisher said of Thigpen.

One of Thigpen's two catches against Jacksonville was for a touchdown. Tennessee needs Thigpen in the lineup since his presence takes the defensive pressure off the Titans' younger receivers, Kevin Dyson and Isaac Byrd.

"We're going to miss Yancey if he can't play. But if he don't, we've got to move on," quarterback Steve McNair said. "We've got a game to play, and hopefully guys realize how important this game is, and they've got to make some plays for us."

Thigpen also has Super Bowl experience, having caught three passes for Pittsburgh in a loss to Dallas four seasons ago.

Fisher named Byrd as the likely replacement if Thigpen can't play.

McNair has been dealing with an injury of his own. He turned doctor Monday at the Titans' first appearance of Super Bowl week, trying to explain just what causes turf toe and how much it can hurt.

"I've got bone spurs in my foot that get on the nerve and aggravate the nerve," the quarterback said.

"It's like a bad toothache. It sometimes swells and aggravates you at night. You can't move the joint because it's all sore in the middle of the joint where the bone spurs are at."
