As the Y2K panic grips the world,   ESPN.com's Brian Murphy says the NFL went haywire a week before the end of the millennium. Teams that needed to win to get into the playoffs -- like the Lions, Cowboys, Dolphins and Panthers -- all lost to clubs that had long been eliminated from the race. All that madness means four 7-8 teams are still alive, including Dallas, which somehow controls its own destiny after losing to lowly New Orleans.
