EDMONTON, Alberta (AP) -- If the game goes to overtime, chances are the Edmonton Oilers won't win.

Sergei Krivokrasov scored 1:19 into overtime Monday night to give the Nashville Predators a 3-2 victory.

Krivokrasov took a backhand pass from Greg Johnson and jammed the puck past Tommy Salo as the Oilers dropped to 0-7-13 in overtime this season.

"It was a bad mistake in overtime," Oilers coach Kevin Lowe said. "With all the difficulties we've had in overtime we haven't made many bad defensive mistakes."

Mark Mowers and Vitali Yachmenev also scored for Nashville, which went to overtime for the third time in four games.

"It's a big win for us," Krivokrasov said. "Our goal is to make the playoffs. We have a tough stretch coming up. But in the end we can be right there."

Janne Niinimaa and Josef Beranek scored for the Oilers, who are four games shy of the NHL record for most overtime games, set by Philadelphia last season.

Roman Hamrlik and Josef Beranek scored for the Oilers, who sit ninth in the Western Conference at 15-19-13-7.

"The guys said tonight's the night," Lowe said, describing the mood on the bench before the overtime. "They were ready to go. It didn't happen."

The Oilers finished an eight-game homestand with a 2-1-3-2 record. Monday's game drew 13,427 fans to the Skyreach Centre.

Mowers started the scoring with just 3 seconds left in the second period. Drake Berehowsky slid the puck ahead just outside the Oilers' blue line and Mowers fooled Salo on a long shot.

In the third period, Todd Marchant made an excellent cross-ice pass to Niinimaa, who was racing in from the blue line and beat goalie Mike Dunham at 3:47 to make it 1-1.

Marchant has four goals and six assists in a career-high seven-game points streak.

Eight minutes later, Yachmenev broke in with Ville Peltonen and beat Salo with a screened shot from the high slot at 11:47 to give the Predators a 2-1. Yachmenev has scored at least one goal in four consecutive games.

Beranek tied it with his first goal since Dec. 11. He beat Dunham with a heavy shot from the top of the faceoff circle at 15:01.
