Damphousse then gave San Jose a 3-2 lead at 3:35 of the second when he scored from the right circle on a rebound. Nolan got his 41st goal at 16:49 of the second period when he rebounded his own shot and scored from close range. Damphousse had an assist. The Sharks cut the Calgary lead in half at 11:25, when Niklas Sundstrom scored from point-blank range after a pass from Mike Ricci. The Sharks tied the game 46 seconds before the end of the first period. Marco Sturm picked up a loose puck after Fuhr rejected Marcus Ragnarsson's shot and scored from in close. Nolan got an assist.
