Blue Jackets post 4-2 preseason win

FAIRBORN, Ohio -- Steve Maltais scored twice to lead the
Columbus Blue Jackets to their franchise's first win Sunday, a 4-2
preseason victory over the Nashville Predators.
The Blue Jackets lost their first exhibition game Friday, 3-2 at
Pittsburgh.
Maltais scored a power-play goal 9:18 into the third period, and
tallied again less than three minutes later.
Mathieu Darche gave the Blue Jackets a 1-0 lead in the first
period.
The Predators tied the game at 1 when Greg Johnson scored at
18:39 of the first period.
Both teams switched goalies at 9:53 in the second period.
Nashville replaced Tomas Vokoun with Chris Mason, and Columbus
used Greg Gardner to sub for Ron Tugnutt.
Greg Classen also scored for the Predators.
A crowd of 5,612 was on hand for the Blue Jackets' Ohio debut in
the Nutter Center.
