Jovanovski will be making his All-Star Game debut.
Pronger, elected to a starting position in fan balloting, is expected to be sidelined 4-6 weeks. Pronger's replacement in the starting lineup for the Feb. 4 All-Star Game in Denver will be announced at a later date, the NHL said.
Jovanovski, 24, is playing in his sixth NHL season and his third with Vancouver. He leads the Canucks in average ice time per game (24 minutes, five seconds) and has tallied 26 points (seven goals, 19 assists) this season, just one shy of his single-season high set in 1998-99. Jovanovski was the first player selected in the 1994 Entry Draft, by the Florida Panthers, and was obtained by the Canucks in a January 1999 trade.
