John, who once performed in a giant Donald Duck costume, wrote the music and lyrics to Disney's 1994 blockbuster, "The Lion King." That movie tells the tale of young Simba's struggle to assume his rightful throne, with the help of the wise-cracking meercat, Timon.

Simba and Timon are voiced by Mathew Broderick and Nathan Lane, who currently star in the Broadway blockbuster "The Producers," which joins "The Lion King" as the toughest ticket on Broadway. "The Producers" won a
record 12 Tony awards last Sunday, with Lane besting Broderick for best
actor in a musical. |

Still best known for his performance in "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" (in which he catches a foul ball at Wrigley Field), Broderick might have been disappointed about losing the Tony award, but he could seek comfort from his wife, Sarah Jessica Parker, the star of HBO's "Sex and the City." The two attended a World Series game last October, with Broderick rooting for the Mets and Parker for the Yankees. They did not catch a foul ball. |
