Simpson: Not the handwriting of a killer
Special to Page 2

He won the Heisman Trophy and was the first player in NFL history to rush for 2,000 yards in a season. But most people will forever associate O.J. Simpson with a much-publicized double-murder trial.

So, what does Simpson's signature say about his personality? We asked handwriting expert Bart Baggett to analyze Simpson's autograph and tell us what it reveals about the NFL Hall of Famer.

Here's what Baggett found:

General notes: I would guess that this is an autograph from Simpson before the double-murder trial. This signature is not angry or tempermental. The round shapes indicate a person who is kind. This certainly doesn't indicate a person who is prone to violence, aggression or lying. This is not the handwriting of a killer.

The big loop in the "O" reveals a person who is very secretive and evasive.

The "i" shows a person who is direct and gets to the point.

The circle dot for the "i" indicates a desire to be noticed.

The shaky humps in the "m" and "n" are not formed with precision. This usually indicates a low level of education and a person who doesn't have a high level of mental processing.

The underline below the signature indicates confidence, leadership and self reliance. Because the underline slants downhill, it indicates dominance.

The long string on the end of the "n" indicates caution.
