As Page 2 continues to examine sports greatest records, we turn our attention to the greatest streaks of all-time. Today we list the greatest individual streaks, and next week we'll list our top team streaks.

And by greatest, we give more weight to how unbreakable a record it is.

Check out our top 10 below, then take a look at our readers' list and vote in the poll to choose the greatest sports streak of all-time.


	Every year, Joe DiMaggio's 56-game hitting streak becomes more amazing.

Here's Page 2's list:

1. Joe DiMaggio's 56-game hitting streak (1941)
Often cited as baseball's most memorable feat. Next best: Pete Rose at 44 in 1978.

2. Glenn Hall's 502 consecutive games played by a goaltender (from 1955 to 1962)
Today's goalies are considered durable if they play just 60 in a season.

3. Cal Ripken Jr.'s 2,632 consecutive games played (May 30, 1982 to Sept. 20, 1998)
Hero of the working man. Next best: Lou Gehrig at 2,130.

4. Byron Nelson's 11 straight PGA victories in 1945
Nowadays, that would be considered a great career's worth of wins.

5. Wilt Chamberlain's seven straight games of 50 or more points (Dec. 16-29, 1961)
Chamberlain's so impressive he also ranks second and is tied for third with a six- and to five-game streaks.


	Johnny Unitas threw at least one TD pass in 47 consecutive games.

6. Johnny Unitas' 47 straight games with a TD pass (1956-60)
Next best: 30, by Dan Marino.

7. Wayne Gretzky's 51-game points streak (1983-84)
The Great One had 153 points (61 goals, 92 assists) during the streak -- a season by today's standards. Next best: 46 games (103 points), by Mario Lemieux (1980-90).

8. Edwin Moses' 122-win streak in the 400-meter hurdles (1977-87)
Track's most dominant athlete over that time, but sadly only had one Olympic gold medal because of 1980 U.S. boycott.

9. Tiger Woods' four straight major pro golf titles
So unprecedented, it required a new name: The Tiger Slam.

10. Harry Broadbent's 16-game goal streak (1921-22)
The Ottawa Senators' star had 27 goals during streak. The closest anyone has gotten since then is Charlie Simmer of the L.A. Kings, 13 games in 1979-80.

Jerry Rice's 229 straight games with at least one reception, Lenny Moore's 18 straight games with a TD, Baltimore, Barry Sanders' 14 straight games of 100 or more yards rushing, Greco-Roman wrestler Alexander Karelin's 13-year unbeaten streak, Orel Hershiser's 59 consecutive shutout innings
