KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) -- Kansas City's Tony Meola tied a Major League Soccer record with his 11th shutout of the season as the Wizards and Dallas Burn played a scoreless tie Wednesday night.
Meola tied the mark set by the Burn's Matt Jordan and Los
Angeles' Kevin Hartman. Kansas City has not allowed a goal in its
last 640 minutes at home.
The tie moves the West-leading Wizards to 10-2-4. Dallas is
6-8-3, including 0-6-2 on the road.
Kansas City took 17 shots, with Jordan stopping four on goal.
Dallas took just three shots, only one on goal. The Wizards held
Dallas' high-scoring duo of Jason Kries and Ariel Graziani to a
combined one shot on goal.
The Wizards played without leading scorer Miklos Molnar, who is
competing for Denmark in the European Championship, and Chris
Henderson, who is out with a strained hip and shoulder.
