KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) Chris Brown and Mo Johnston scored three minutes apart as the Kansas City Wizards beat the Miami Fusion 2-1 Wednesday night.
The Fusion (2-1) struck first when Alex Pineda Chacon put a deflection past Wizards keeper Tony Meola in the 72nd minute. It was Chacon's third goal of the season.
The Wizards (2-1) tied it one minute later when Brown headed in
a pass from Chris Klein.
Kansas City took the lead five minutes later when Johnston put
in a rebound of Gary Glasgow's shot.
It was the second straight win for the Wizards.
It also was a homecoming for Fusion midfielders Preki and Chris
Henderson, who were traded from Kansas City to Miami in the
offseason.
Miami was missing starters Diego Serna and Carlos Llamosa, who
sat out with red card suspensions. Starters Ian Bishop and Ivan
McKinley also were out. Both were suspended for team disciplinary
reasons.
It was Miami's first loss of the season.
