TAMPA, Fla. (AP) Josh Wolff, who scored the only goal for the
United States in a victory over Costa Rica, scored on a 20-yard
free kick as the Chicago Fire beat the Tampa Bay Mutiny 1-0
Saturday.
Wolff left with a left foot injury after being tackled from
behind by Tampa Bay's Craig Demmin. He had the injury treated with
an ice pack and watched the rest of the game from the bench.
"It's not the ankle ... it's the arch of the foot," Wolff
said. "Until they look at it, I don't know what it is."
Wolff was scheduled to have X-rays Saturday night.
Tampa Bay's Mamadou Diallo, last year's MLS goal-scoring leader,
did not play because of a two-game red card suspension. He will
also miss next Saturday's game at Chicago.
Mutiny defender Kevin Anderson left early in the first half with
a right hamstring injury. Defender John Maessner received a red
card in the 68th minute for taking down DaMarcus Beasley from
behind.
Chicago is 2-1. Tampa Bay is 2-2.
