COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) -- Marvin Quijano of Los Angeles and John
Wilmar Perez of Columbus scored a minute apart in the second half
and the Galaxy and Crew played to a 1-1 tie on Saturday.
Quijano intercepted Duncan Oughton's pass for Crew goalkeeper
Tom Presthus in the 48th minute and dribbled into the net for his
first career goal.
Wilmar tied it a minute later, knocking a shot from the top of
the box off the crossbar and past goalkeeper Matt Reis.
Columbus (2-3-4) nearly scored in the 64th minute, but Brian
West's shot from close range sailed wide. Presthus stopped Mauricio
Cienfuegos' shot in the fifth minute of overtime.
The Crew extended its unbeaten streak under interim coach Greg
Andrulis to three games (1-0-2).
The Galaxy (5-3-3) played without Luis Hernandez, who was
serving a one-game suspension for receiving a yellow card in three
consecutive games, and Cobi Jones, who is sidelined with an injured
quadriceps.
