DENVER (AP) -- Landon Donovan and Jeff Agoos scored first-half goals as the San Jose Earthquakes defeated the Colorado Rapids 2-1 Saturday night, extending their unbeaten streak to eight games.
San Jose limited Colorado to two shots in the second half. The
Earthquakes are 6-0-2 in their last eight games and 6-2-3 overall.
Donovan scored in the 12th minute on a play set up by Manuel
Lagos and Wade Barrett.
The Earthquakes made it 2-0 in the 25th minute when Agoos scored
on a 30-yard shot that skipped past Colorado goalkeeper David
Kramer and into the lower-right corner.
Colorado (2-7-3) scored in the extra minute of the first half.
John Spencer took a pass from Ross Paule, shielded the ball from
two defenders, and slid a shot into the lower-left corner.
