DENVER (AP) -- Joselito Vaca scored one goal and had an assist and
the Dallas Burn defeated the Colorado Rapids 6-3 on Saturday night.
Ryan Suarez, Paul Broome and Aleksey Korol added goals for the Burn, which posted a franchise-high six goals. Dallas benefitted from two goals Colorado players sent into their own net.
Raul Diaz Arce had two goals and Marcelo Balboa had one for the
Rapids, (0-5-2) who are winless in their last seven games. Colorado
last won on May 12.
The Rapids gave Dallas a 1-0 lead five minutes into the first
half when Scott Vermillion kicked the ball into his own goal.
Colorado then got goals from Barboa and Diaz Arce to take a 2-1
lead.
Suarez converted a pass from Vaca into a tying goal for the Burn
at the 29th minute, and Vaca's goal gave Dallas a 3-2 advantage.
Diaz Arce tied the game at 3-3 a minute later.
Dallas broke the tie at the 56th minute when Colorado's Lance
Key sent a header past his own goalkeeper Adin Brown into his own
goal.
Broome and Korol scored for Dallas in the final seven minutes.
