DENVER (AP) -- Kansas City goalkeeper Bo Oshoniyi stopped 16 shots as the Wizards played a 0-0 tie with the Colorado Rapids in the MLS on Wednesday night.
It was Oshoniyi's second shutout of the season and the Wizards' fifth. Kansas City was held scoreless for the eighth time this year.
Scott Garlick had 17 saves for Colorado in his first shutout of
the year. The Rapids, 2-1-2 in their last five games, had won their
previous two home games.
Oshoniyi robbed Colorado's Marcelo Balboa in the opening minute
with a smothering stop on a breakaway.
Balboa was victimized again in the 21st minute when Oshoniyi
made a late stop of a screened shot.
The Wizards managed few serious threats. They saw a low drive by
Gary Glasgow in the 31st minute caught easily by Garlick. And seven
minutes into the second half, Glasgow's shot hit the left goalpost.
Moments later, Balboa missed wide right on an open net for
Colorado.
Colorado's Raul Diaz Acre hit the crossbar from 15 yards in the
86th minute.
Garlick grabbed a header by Kansas City's Onadi Lowe in the
fifth minute of overtime.
