KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Mark Santel scored in the 21st minute
and Gary Glasgow added a goal in the 65th as the Kansas City
Wizards beat the New England Revolution 2-0 Sunday night in Major League Soccer play.
Kansas City, 4-1-1 in its last six games, improved to 9-9-2.
Santel moved across the top of the box and shot across his body,
catching Revolution goalkeeper Jeff Causey off-guard and giving
Kansas City an early lead.
Glasgow scored his first goal of the season and the Wizards'
second goal of the game from the top of the box.
New England's best scoring chance came late in the first half,
but a shot by Andy Williams deflected off the left corner of the
goal.
After New England (5-10-5) used all three of its substitutions, Causey was forced to move up to defender for the
final five minutes after Wolde Harris was injured late in the
second half. Defender Nick Downing finished the game in goal for
New England.
