FOXBORO, Mass. (AP) -- Ted Chronopoulos scored two goals to lead
the New England Revolution to a 5-1 victory over the Dallas Burn at
Foxboro Stadium on Saturday night.
New England set a franchise record with five goals and kept its
playoff hopes alive. The Revolution (6-10-5) moved into ninth
place. The top eight teams qualify for the playoffs.
William Sunsing, Matt Okoh and Cate also scored for New England.
Aleksey Korol scored in the 86th minute for the eighth-place
Burn (7-9-4).
Sunsing opened the scoring in the 9th minute. He beat defenders
Jorge Rodriguez and Eric Dade and scored from 14 yards.
Chronopoulos scored the first of his two goals in the 49th
minute. He added a goal in the 81st.
Okoh scored in the 76th minute and Cate added a goal three
minutes later.
New England played the final 20 minutes with a man advantage.
Dallas' Justin Evans was ejected following a violent foul on Cate.
