Super Time on Super Sunday
By Rob Dibble

On Super Bowl Sunday, I had the opportunity to host ESPN Radio's Super Bowl Preview Show with ESPN's Linda Cohn. We were set up in the hospitality tent at Raymond James Stadium. I had the time of my life.

We interviewed so many NFL stars -- including Tony Munoz, Donovan McNabb and Robert Porcher -- but the highlight had to be meeting Joe Namath. Namath said he hoped the Super Bowl wouldn't be decided by kickers. I guess he got what he wanted.

 Trent Dilfer
Trent Dilfer was 12-for-25 for 153 yards and one TD in Super Bowl XXXV.

You have to give credit to the Baltimore Ravens. They executed their game plan to perfection and proved they are the best football team this season. The Ravens went out there and stuffed the Giants. They kept the pressure on Kerry Collins, who threw into double coverage all night and made some critical mistakes, including four interceptions. He made a lot of bad decisions, most of which were forced by a powerful Ravens defense.

For example, near the end of the first half in a 10-0 game, the Giants were on the 30-yard line and they should have at least come away with a field goal. But Collins pressed the issue, threw into double coverage and the Ravens picked it off. That set the tone for the rest of the game.

I'm happy for Trent Dilfer. It took a lot of guts for him to come back to this town and win the Super Bowl. He proved that he has what it takes to go the distance.

I have so many people to thank for such a memorable week in Tampa. Many thanks to Gary Hughes of the Marriott Waterside, Alania Miller of the Tampa Bay Lightning, Tim and Jim over at the Harbor Island Athletic Club and all the great fans and e-mailers who sent me birthday wishes. I had a great week and I'm already looking forward to New Orleans next year.

See ya back in Bristol. Peace out.
