Washington (5-3) remained second in the Eastern Conference. It's
a half game behind the Cleveland Rockers, who defeated Sacramento
on Monday.
Detroit (4-5) set a WNBA record for points in a half and in a

The Shock scored the league-record 66 points in the second half
of that game, but never got its offense in gear against the Mystics

limited the Shock to just 20 second-half points and held them to 34
percent shooting from the floor.
None of the Detroit starters made it into double figures;
reserve Tamicha Jackson led the Shock with 13 points. The Shock's
starters combined for only 23 points.
The Mystics made five of their first six shots and hit 61
percent from the field in the first half en route to a 45-35
halftime lead.
Washington took charge with an eight-point run that gave it a
30-24 lead with 5:51 left in the first half. Detroit had four
