SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) _ Yolanda Griffith had 14 points and 13 rebounds as the Sacramento Monarchs beat the Washington Mystics 78-56 Saturday night. Ruthie Bolton-Holifield had 14 points and Kedra Holland-Corn added 12 points as the Monarchs (13-6) improved to 8-1 at home. Griffith, the WNBA's MVP in 1999, also had four blocked shots and three steals. Chamique Holdsclaw led the Mystics (8-9) with 16 points, and reserve Tausha Mills had season highs with 15 points and a team-high 12 rebounds in just 16 minutes. Washington, playing the fourth game in a five-game trip, lost its second in a row. Sacramento shot 52.4 percent from the field, as Holland-Corn sparked a burst late in the first half that broke the game open. Her spectacular touch pass to Latasha Byears on a fast break put the Monarchs ahead 18-16. Holland-Corn scored six points during a 14-0 run over the next 5:20, putting the game out of reach.
