PHOENIX (AP) -- Kristen Veal scored 16 points as the Phoenix Mercury beat the Miami Sol 60-47 on Wednesday night to snap a four-game losing streak.
Jennifer Gillom added 14 points for the Mercury (5-9). Maria Stepanova had nine points, including a pair of layups during an 8-0 run late in the game.
Veal, who had only eight points in the previous four games, was 6-for-7 from the field as she topped her previous high of 10 points against Portland on June 4.
Elena Baranova led the Sol (6-9) with 12 points. Miami has lost six of its last seven games.
