MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- Svetlana Abrosimova scored a career-high 21 points as the Minnesota Lynx beat Seattle 68-58 Wednesday night, extending the Storm's losing streak to five games.
Abrosimova, Minnesota's top pick in the April draft, set a
franchise record for field goal percentage with 8-for-9 shooting.
The former Connecticut standout, who missed the preseason and six
regular-season games with a foot injury, has scored 79 points in
her past five games.
Katie Smith, the WNBA's leading scorer, had 19 points and a
career-high seven assists for Minnesota (7-12), which won for the
second time in nine games.
Lauren Jackson led Seattle (8-13) with 21 points and 10
rebounds.
Abrosimova scored 14 first-half points and led the Lynx to a
31-25 halftime lead.
Minnesota pushed its lead to 16 points in the second half before
Seattle rallied within five points, 59-54, with 4:26 remaining.
Georgia Schweitzer hit a basket and a free throw for Lynx, who closed the game with a 9-4 run.
