TORONTO (AP) -- Not since 1979 has baseball seen the kind of offense that the Toronto Blue Jays are producing.
Jose Cruz Jr. hit a leadoff home run off the Windows restaurant in center field and later added a three-run shot as the high-scoring Blue Jays beat the New York Yankees 8-2 Saturday.

The Blue Jays have scored at least six runs in 10 consecutive games. That's the longest streak in the majors since 1979, when the California Angels -- guided by current Toronto manager Jim Fregosi -- did it for 11 straight.
"There's no comparison between that Angel team and this team," Fregosi said. "We've got more power, more speed, more offense and it's a different era."
The Blue Jays have hit 32 home runs in just 13 games at SkyDome this season. They have 10 or more hits in 11 consecutive games.
"We have a great offensive team from top to bottom," Cruz said. "We don't have an easy out."
Kelvim Escobar (2-2) pitched a complete game as the Blue Jays won their fourth in a row. He allowed nine hits, struck out four and walked none.
On Friday, Chris Carpenter pitched a five-hitter as Toronto ended the Yankees' eight-game winning streak, 8-3.
"I think we're worse than our record shows," Derek Jeter said of New York's 11-5 start. "We're not working on all cylinders."
Pitching with a 5-0 lead after the first inning, Escobar threw his second career complete game.
After striking out Paul O'Neill to end the first and fanning Jeter to finish the fifth, Escobar jumped off the mound and struck a celebratory pose.
"He's pulling out the Jose Lima style," Jeter said. "When you got a guy that's throwing that hard, you have to gear up for the fastball, and then if he's throwing that split, he's going to be tough, and that's what he was doing today."
David Cone (0-2), winless in his first four starts, was tagged for eight runs and eight hits in three-plus innings, leaving with a 10.70 ERA.
"It was just an awful performance," Cone said. "I felt flat. I pretty much blew us out of the water from the first inning on."
Cruz began the game with a home run, and Tony Batista hit a two-run drive that capped a five-run first inning. Cruz made it 8-1 in the fourth with his seventh homer.
Jeter led off the fourth with a triple, and O'Neill followed with an RBI single. Jeter had an RBI groundout in the eighth.
Game notes
Escobar sported diamond earrings. ... An Ottawa Senators fan was lustily booed when he waved his Senators flag. The NHL Senators were in Toronto to play the Maple Leafs in a playoff game Saturday night. ... Cone allowed eight runs in just 2 2/3 innings against Anaheim on April 5.
