SAN FRANCISCO (AP) _ Joe Nathan combined with two relievers on a three-hitter and J.T. Snow homered Friday night to give the San Francisco Giants a 5-0 win over the Colorado Rockies.

San Francisco, which broke open the game with a four-run eighth inning, has won five straight and 11 of 13 following a 4-11 start. The Giants stopped Colorado's three-game winning streak.

Nathan (2-0) baffled a hot-hitting Colorado team, which came into the game with a major league-leading .306 team average. The Rockies had scored 72 runs in their last six games.

Snow sliced an opposite-field liner to left in the second off Masato Yoshii (1-3), who allowed two hits in seven innings, retiring his last 15 batters.

San Francisco got its eighth-inning runs on Bobby Estalella's RBI double off Stan Belinda, Calvin Murray's two-run double off Gabe White and Bill Mueller's run-scoring single.

Nathan, clinging to a one-run lead, had walked the bases loaded with two out in the seventh and went to a 3-1 count on Neifi Perez, but Perez flied out to center on the next pitch.

Nathan allowed two hits in seven innings, struck out five and walked three. John Johnstone pitched a hitless eighth and Alan Embree finished.

Brian Hunter reached against Johnstone on a two-base fielding error by Mueller at third base with two outs in the eighth, but Mike Lansing hit a low liner to left fielder Barry Bonds, who went down on his knees to make the catch.

Notes: Plate umpire Doug Eddings ejected two players, one from each team, for extended arguments on called third strikes: Colorado's Jeff Cirillo in the seventh and San Francisco's Jeff Kent in the eighth. ... Giants manager Dusty Baker said OF Ellis Burks is ready to rejoin the starting lineup, but kept him out Friday night because of windy, 55-degree weather. He is expected to make his first start in seven games Saturday. Burks has been bothered by a strained left quadriceps. ... Rockies manager Buddy Bell said OF Tom Goodwin probably will return to the starting lineup Sunday. He strained his left abductor muscle Wednesday against Montreal. ... Rockies RHP Rolando Arrojo will be activated from the disabled list to start Saturday's game. It will be his first career appearance against the Giants. ... It was the second shutout of the year for San Francisco, which hasn't been blanked.
