GAME LOG
DETROIT (Ticker) -- The Detroit Tigers got no help from the weather as they tried to snap a three-game losing streak. Leading 3-0 in the third inning, the Tigers had their game with the Kansas City Royals postponed due to rain at Comerica Park. Juan Encarnacion, Bobby Higginson and Luis Polonia delivered RBI singles for Detroit before rain halted play in the bottom of the third. Umpires waited one hour, 40 minutes before postponing the contest. No makeup date was announced. The teams will conclude their abbreviated two-game series on Wednesday afternoon, with Chris Fussell (2-1) of Kansas City opposing Hideo Nomo (1-1) of Detroit in a duel of righthanders.
