SAN FRANCISCO (AP) _ Mike Lowell drove in three runs and A.J. Burnett pitched seven strong innings Tuesday night as the Florida Marlins beat the San Francisco Giants 7-5.

Kevin Millar added a two-run homer for the Marlins, who stopped a three-game losing streak and sent Shawn Estes (12-4) to his first loss since June 10.

Estes, who had been 7-0 in his previous 12 starts, allowed a season-high seven runs, nine hits and three walks in 3 2-3 innings, the shortest of his 23 starts this year.

San Francisco lost for the second time in three games after winning six of seven.

Burnett (2-3) won for the first time in six starts since July 20, when he came off the 15-day disabled list to beat Atlanta. Burnett, who went on the DL on March 17 with a ruptured ligament in his right thumb, allowed two runs and four hits, matching his career high with seven strikeouts.

Antonio Alfonseca got three outs for his major league-leading 36th save in 40 chances.

The first five Marlins reached base safely against Estes.

Luis Castillo and Millar walked around a single by Dave Berg. After Preston Wilson hit a grounder that forced Castillo at home, Lowell hit a two-run double down the left-field line. Derrick Lee added an RBI grounder.

San Francisco scored single runs in each of the first two innings against Burnett. Marvin Benard tripled in the first and scored when Barry Bonds grounded into a double play.

Ellis Burks and Rich Aurilia hit back-to-back doubles in the second. Aurilia was thrown out at the plate when he tried to score on Bobby Estalella's single to center, with Wilson throwing a one-hop strike to catcher Ramon Castro.

Burnett did not allow a hit the rest of the way, retiring 16 of his last 18 batters, with two walks, before giving way to Dan Miceli.

Lowell and Mark Smith hit RBI singles in the third for a 5-2 lead. Burnett, who went 2-for-3, singled to open the fourth and Millar homered with two outs, chasing Estes.

Barry Bonds hit a two-run homer off Miceli in the eighth and Burks hit a solo shot in the ninth, giving him five homers in his last four games.

Notes: Lee was ejected by plate umpire Mike Everett after he threw his bat to the ground when he was called out on strikes leading off the fifth inning. ... J.T. Snow, who went 0-for-4, needs five hits for 1,000. ... Estes leads the majors with 32 grounded into double plays induced. The Marlins hit into two against him. ... Wilson extended his homerless streak to a season-high 32 games and 127 at bats.
