  • Holds the major league record for most games caught (2,226) and most home runs as a catcher (351).

  • Played his first 11 years in Boston before signing as a free agent with the Chicago White Sox in 1981, for whom he played his final 13 seasons.

  • In 1972, became the American League's first-ever unanimous Rookie of the Year after hitting .293 with 22 home runs. Also won his only Gold Glove that year and finished fourth in the MVP vote.

  • Hit one of the more dramatic home runs in baseball history in Game 6 of the 1975 World Series. The infamous video of him waving the ball fair in the 12th inning (off Pat Darcy) gave the Red Sox a 7-6 victory over the Reds, evening the series at three games apiece.

  • Led White Sox to 1983 AL West title, hitting .289 with 26 home runs and 86 RBI. Finished third in the MVP vote.

  • Hit 376 career home runs, including a high of 37 in 1985 at age 37.

  • An 11-time All-Star, Fisk played in four different decades.

  • Caught 154 games in 1978, a record among Hall of Fame catchers.

  • Was the catcher for all 25 innings in the second-longest game in major league history, a 7-6 White Sox win over the Brewers on May 8, 1984.

  • His 72 home runs after the age of 40 are a major league record.
