SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) _ Brevin Knight scored 14 points to lead the Cleveland Cavaliers to an 82-68 victory over the New York Knicks on Saturday night as Latrell Sprewell was just 5-of-19 from the field in his first exhibition game this season. Allan Houston led the Knicks (0-2) with 17 points, while Sprewell added 10 as the Knicks shot 35 percent for the game. The Knicks suspended Sprewell for the first preseason game after he missed the first week of training camp. He was on the sideline in street clothes Tuesday night when the Knicks lost to Philadelphia in their exhibition opener. If upheld, the suspension would cost Sprewell $100,000, or 1-90th of his $9 million salary. The Knicks also fined him at least $30,000. Cedric Henderson added 11 points for the Cavaliers (2-1). New York's John Wallace, who played his college basketball at Syracuse, returned to the Carrier Dome and had 12 points and eight rebounds. Knight, who was 7-of-10 from the field, scored all his points in the first half. Henderson scored seven of his in the fourth quarter. The Cavaliers opened the fourth quarter with a 9-2 run and went on to outscore New York 26-16. Cleveland's Lamond Murray sprained his left knee late in the second quarter and will be reevaluated when the Cavaliers return home. They also lost Shawn Kemp in the second quarter with a lower back strain. Kemp, who scored three points, was listed as day-to-day. New York played without Patrick Ewing, Larry Johnson, and Chris Dudley, who are all injured.
