INDIANAPOLIS (AP) _ Jason Williams scored 21 points and Darrick Martin added 16 as the Sacramento Kings rallied from double-digit deficits in the third and fourth quarters to post a 96-95 exhibition victory over the Indiana Pacers on Saturday night. Williams scored 13 points in the third quarter as Sacramento cut a 15-point deficit to five. Martin scored nine points in the fourth quarter as the Kings rallied from a 10-point deficit and scored 22 of the game's final 31 points. Sacramento (1-1) made the most of the penalty situation in the fourth quarter, hitting 14 of 17 free throws while making just two field goals over the final seven minutes. Martin was 7-of-8 from the free throw line over the last six minutes. Scot Pollard had 13 points and 12 rebounds for the Kings. Reggie Miller led Indiana (1-1) with 18 points, while Rik Smits added 13. Dale Davis had eight points and 12 rebounds. After his bench proved ineffective, Sacramento coach Rick Adelman played his starters much of the fourth quarter while Pacers coach Larry Bird elected to stick with his reserves.
