PORTLAND, Oregon (Ticker) -- Scottie Pippen scored 14 of his 22 points during the decisive third quarter as the Portland Trail Blazers ran past the Sacramento Kings for a 99-93 exhibition victory. Pippen, who came to Portland in exchange for six role players in an offseason deal with Houston, helped the Trail Blazers turn a three-point halftime lead into an 83-64 cushion entering the fourth period. Pippen was 8-of-10 from the floor, including four 3-pointers. He grabbed eight rebounds and handed out four assists in his best all-around performance of the preseason. Rasheed Wallace had 17 points and 10 rebounds and the Blazers' other major new acquisition, Steve Smith, added 12 points for Portland (5-0), which remained unbeaten in exhibition play. Chris Webber collected 17 points and Lawrence Funderburke added 10 and 10 rebounds for the Kings (2-3), who shot 45 percent (39-of-86) and scored 23 points off 15 turnovers. Arvydas Sabonis and Antonio Harvey scored 10 points apiece for the Blazers, who shot 45 percent (37-of-83) and held a 48-43 advantage on the boards.
