DENVER (AP) _ Michael Dickerson scored 24 points and Shareef Abdur-Rahim added 22 as the Vancouver Grizzlies got their first preseason win, 105-97 over the Denver Nuggets on Tuesday night.

Dickerson was 7-for-13 from the field, including two 3-pointers, and 8-for-10 from the foul line for Vancouver (1-6). The Grizzlies shot 57 percent for the game.

Chauncey Billups and Bryant Stith had 17 points each for Denver (1-6). No. 1 draft choice James Posey had seven points and four rebounds for the Nuggets, who played without injured Antonio McDyess.

Vancouver took a 12-point lead into the fourth quarter, but the Nuggets closed the gap to 100-94 when Raef LaFrentz hit a layup with 44 seconds left. Felipe Lopez hit four of six free throws in the final 40 seconds to secure the win.

Trailing 54-37 at the half, Denver drew within 60-46 on a driving layup by Nick Van Exel with 8:07 left in the third quarter. But Dickerson and Abdur-Rahim scored four points apiece over the next four minutes to give the Grizzlies a 71-48 lead.

Billups made four 3-pointers in the last 3:50 of the fourth quarter to cut the deficit to 79-67.

Dickerson scored 12 points as the Grizzlies outscored Denver 33-12 in the second quarter, when the Nuggets hit only five of 17 shots and turned the ball over nine times.

Vancouver's Grant Long sprained his left knee with 5:46 remaining in the second quarter.
