PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) _ Steve Smith and Bonzi Wells each scored 19 points as the Portland Trail Blazers beat the Golden State Warriors 101-83 in exhibition play Sunday night. Shawn Kemp added 14 points and 11 rebounds for the Blazers, who lost to the Warriors 99-96 in overtime Friday. Larry Hughes had 16 points and 10 rebounds for the Warriors, who shot just 36 percent and committed 12 of their 23 turnovers in the first half. Portland led 26-16 after the first quarter and broke the game open in the second. Wells found Scottie Pippen for an alley-oop dunk, starting an 11-0 run that put the Blazers up 41-26 with 5:21 left. Wells scored five points and Kemp four in the run, and Steve Smith's 3-pointer with 2:39 left in the half put Portland up 50-30. Portland increased its lead to 60-36 after Smith converted Damon Stoudamire's steal into a dunk. But with less than a second left in the half, Kemp fouled Antawn Jamison, who hit the first free throw before Adonal Foyle tipped in the second at the buzzer. Portland returned to its starting lineup of Stoudamire, Smith, Kemp, Rasheed Wallace and Will Perdue and increased the lead to 78-55 after three quarters, as Smith scored nine points in the period.
