INDIANAPOLIS (AP) _ Austin Croshere scored 10 of his 15 points in the first quarter as the Indiana Pacers beat the Sacramento Kings 92-83 in an exhibition game Sunday night. Indiana led 24-11 after the opening period while holding the Kings to 14 percent shooting (3-of-21) from the field. Two free throws by Sam Perkins, who had nine of his 17 points in the quarter, put the Pacers ahead 24-6 and the Kings never got closer than 11 points in the opening half. Indiana's 42 percent shooting from the field doubled the 21 percent performance by the Kings in the first half. The Kings were 2-for-9 from 3-point range. The Kings, with Chris Webber sidelined by an Achilles' tendon injury, trailed 54-33 at halftime and fell behind by as many as 27 in the third period. The Pacers took their biggest lead at 65-38 with 5:40 left in the third quarter when reserves took over for both teams. Bobby Jackson sparked the comeback by scoring all 18 of his points in the second half. Jackson's 3-pointer with 7:14 to play brought Sacramento within four at 74-70 with 7:14 to play. Reserves Scot Pollard and Darrick Martin each had 10 points for Sacramento (1-2). Reggie Miller and Al Harrington each had 11 for Indiana (2-1).
