"Vonteego Cummings has size and ability, and can play either the point or off-guard positions, which makes him a valuable commodity. Cummings is a very good shooter who never came out of the game for coach Ralph Willard. He is a versatile performer who can score, shoot with consistency, handle and pass, and he played most of his career (before all the troubles that befell his program) with poise and confidence. Cummings always played loose and with a great calm to his game.
He has good bounce to his game and elevation to his shot. At 6-3, he can post or shoot over smaller guards. He is smooth and seemed to struggle only with much quicker guards who could get up under him, such as Corey Wright and John Linehan of Providence."
