    Get the Coach's Edge

Let the experts at Coach's Edge get you ready for the NCAA Tournament with an inside look at the Wisconsin playbook.
  • Play 1 | 2 | 3
  • The Badgers, like Purdue, make teams play ugly. They are solid defensively. They struggle with where they will generate offense, which is their biggest question mark.

Jon Bryant shoots for the Badgers, but most of his attempts are 3-pointers. Maurice Linton is the only player they have who can beat someone off the dribble. Mark Vershaw, at 6-8, lacks speed but leads the team in scoring and assists. He is not consistent, but he gets the job done the way Dick Bennett wants it.

The Badgers have no dominant scorer, but Wisconsin is fourth in the country in scoring defense. I wouldn't expect them to go far in the NCAA Tournament because they lack height. They could win one game or maybe two. Wisconsin needs to make shots to put any pressure on an opponent.
