Wansley missed classes, will miss Oahu Bowl Associated Press
HONOLULU -- Georgia cornerback Tim Wansley will sit out Sunday's
Oahu Bowl game against Virginia because of a violation of the
school's class attendance policy.
"He missed too many classes," Bulldogs coach Jim Donnan said
Thursday. "He'll be the first guy in two years this has happened
to. It was a tough decision but he has to accept it."
Wansley led the Southeastern Conference in interceptions with
six and returned two for touchdowns.
Donnan said Wansley is still eligible to play under NCAA rules
and remains academically eligible at Georgia. The junior
accompanied the team to Hawaii.
Donnan said either Dantra Clements or DeCory Bryant would start
in Wansley's place.
