Penn State carries the nickname of Linebacker U. thanks to a tradition of ferocious defense. Texas A&M got a first-hand look at the 1999 version as the Nittany Lions rolled to a 24-0 triumph in San Antonio. The victory sent retiring defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky out a winner and gave head coach Joe Paterno the 20th bowl victory of his career.
