Patience paid off for Wake Forest quarterback Ben Sankey, who waited three years to become the starter and then ended his career on Christmas Day as a winner. Sankey led the Demon Deacons to a 23-3 victory over Arizona State, capping off the school's first winning season since 1992. Sankey completed 13 of 22 passes for 188 yards and a TD to be named the game's most outstanding player.

The Demon Deacons put together a nine-play drive in the fourth quarter that ended with Morgan Kane's 1-yard touchdown run for a 20-3 lead.	The Decons defense, which held the Sun Devils to just 164 total yards and forced two turnovers.	50: The Sun Devils advanced past midfield just twice in the game. 56: As in yards on Wake QB Sankey's TD pass to Jimmy Caldwell. 89: Yards gained by ASU 1,000-yard running back J.R. Redmond.
