Horned Frogs leap
into bowl season
Texas Christian has got a pretty good thing going. With their 28-14 victory over East Carolina in the inaugural Mobile Bowl on Wednesday, the Horned Frogs have won back-to-back bowl games for the first time in 60 years. Oh, and next season they'll engineer a Heisman Trophy campaign for the sensational LaDainian Tomlinson, who scored a pair of touchdowns and ran for 124 yards against the Pirates.

IT WAS OVER WHEN	GAME BALL GOES TO	STATISTICALLY SPEAKING
TCU's Russell Gary intercepted a pass midway through the fourth quarter and returned it 32 yards for a touchdown. At the time, ECU had cut the Frogs' lead to 21-14 and stolen momentum.	LaDainian Tomlinson, a leading candidate for next year's Heisman Trophy, who scored two TDs and rushed for 124 yards.	Along with last year's win over USC in the Sun Bowl, this is TCU's first back-to-back bowl victories since 1937, '39. ... TCU's defense limited ECU to minus-16 yards rushing.

East Carolina is talented with David Garrard at quarterback. The Pirates' punter, Andrew Bayes, leads the nation, so it becomes a field-position game for them. TCU came on at the end of the year. LaDainian Tomlinson, the nation's leading rusher, is a tremendously talented running back. But the key will be whether or not TCU can stop East Carolina's balanced offense.
