Clemson's Bernard Rambert is engulfed by Bulldogs
Bulldogs bully Clemson with defense 17-7
Coach Tommy Bowden tried every gimmick he had to jump-start the Tigers. Nothing seemed to work as Mississippi State stopped every challenge in a 17-7 victory. The Bulldog defense, the best in the country, picked off five Clemson passes and Mississippi State won for the first time in five postseason tries since beating Kansas in the 1981 Hall of Fame bowl.

The Mississippi State defense, which finished with five interceptions and a fumble recovery.
Brandon Streeter's fourth-down pass was knocked away by Bulldog defensive lineman John Hilliard.
